Theater experience provides summer excitement in Coldwater

A Coldwater theater is planning a unique dining event, treating guests to dinner and a show for an entertaining summer evening.

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, a hit musical show and performance, is based on a book written by Rachel Sheinkin, with the music and lyrics composed by William Finn. The award-winning musical has been performed at the most prominent opera houses in the world – including the Second Stage Theatre, Arts Centre Melbourne – and has been translated into languages like German and Korean. It received recognition with a Tony Award for Best Book and Musical, and the Lucille Lortel Award.

The main character is Rona Lisa Peretti, a top-ranked realtor in Putnam County and a judge on the spelling bee’s panel. Other prominent characters to follow during the show include Vice Principal Douglas Panch and Olive Ostrovsky. Brochure printing is a helpful option to provide information about the cast for audience members and help them follow the program from one act to the next.

In addition to the show, registered guests will receive dinner and complimentary drinks, including alcoholic options. Guests are reminded to drink responsibly and arrange for a designated driver.

The performance will be held at the Tibbits Opera House in Coldwater on Saturday, August 2 starting at 7:30 PM. Tickets can be purchased online for $83 per guest.
