Barbecue battle brings flavor to Coldwater

Grillmasters and Coldwater residents with a love for barbecue are in for a memorable weekend this April, as a competition is set to bring the best in the region together.

The GLBBQA Spring Fling Competition, which is being organized by the Great Lakes BBQ Association, will be setting up shop at a new venue in Coldwater soon, showcasing skills on grills for attendees to see. The event will be the 10th Annual Spring Fling, continuing a decade of success, bringing the community together and taking taste buds for a ride.

The competition is open to both members and non-members, though the number of teams competing is capped at 50. Team registration will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis, and interested teams are encouraged to sign up while spots last. Poster printing can help spread the word of such events around the community, increasing awareness and attendance with minimal investment.

The organizing body’s website is down for maintenance, but teams and interested spectators can reach out via email with questions or assistance with the registration process. The BBQ options will include pork, chicken, brisket, and ribs, ensuring variety for food enthusiasts.

The Branch County Fairgrounds in Coldwater will be hosting this year’s Spring Fling, which is scheduled to begin on Friday, April 17th, at 8:00 AM. Registration is open via email, costing $200 for member teams and $250 for non-member teams.
