Special graduation package unveiled at Sears Centre

The Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates will be renting out $425 suites for families that want to watch graduation ceremonies in relative privacy. Each suite will hold up to 15 people and they will get a complimentary 12-pack of bottled water.

Hiring external locations for high school graduations is becoming the norm. The Sears Centre alone is expected to host up 18 graduation ceremonies in the spring of 2019. High schools used to hold their graduation ceremonies on their own grounds but they now often prefer to rent out such locations because they can be confident that they will be avoid any bad weather. Each event should run smoothly as long as the organizers get the brochure printing correct for every ceremony.

No graduation ceremony can ever be expected to fill out the 11,000 seats at the Sears Centre. The General Manager for the Sears Centre, Ben Gibbs, stated that they are offering the private suites because there is a high demand from large families that would struggle to find enough seating in the same location. The initial response has been positive, but they are yet to see how many suites will be rented out.

The suites will not be available for the ceremonies from U-46 schools because there will not be enough time to clean out the suites in-between the five ceremonies scheduled for the same day.
