Hoffman Estates Public Works has cordially invited local households to be part of an activity that will extend the fun of the Halloween season.

The department's staff will host its yearly Open House and Pumpkin Smash, and it will be set up at the Hoffman Estates Public Works Center. Families can participate free of charge, and there are various activities on the agenda, a full list of which can be found on the Hoffman Estates website.

The plans for the occasion include an assortment of touch-a-truck displays, and snowplow rides are in the works. Everyone can view the exhibits that show how the various Public Works equipment is used in its day-to-day operations, including heavy equipment and aerial lifts. Light refreshments will be served to the crowd, and everyone can collect an assortment of Promotional Products for as long as supplies last. Prize draws will also take place.

Everyone who comes out is encouraged to bring their jack-o-lanterns and old pumpkins along, as they will be added to the Pumpkin Smash. All gourds will be composted in keeping with the Village’s sustainability goals, which guests can learn about during the event.

Hoffman Estates families will be gathering for this day of fall fun on Saturday, November 7. It will run from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm, and the venue is at 2305 Pembroke Avenue.
