October is Fire Prevention Month, and to help make sure everyone in Hoffman Estates knows what to do in case of a fire, and how to prevent them in the first place, it will be running its annual Fire Department Open House.
The activity will be taking place at the communities’ various fire stations, and a list of these will be released to the public as its date draws closer. They will all be family-friendly, and each will have a variety of activities set up.
Young attendees will be invited to meet local firefighters and learn how they perform their life saving work. There will be information shared about free safety and prevention, and everyone can sit in an actual fire truck, squad vehicle, and fire engine, and a fire pole will be on site as well. Those who want to show off their physical skills can take on the obstacle course. Live demonstrations and community service group tables will round out the occasion.
