The Platzkonzert Germanfest is taking place next month in Hoffman Estates.
There is set to be German food, beer and lots of family-friendly activities to participate in throughout the day. Activities will start off with the 2nd annual Germanfest 5K, which is a fundraising event for the Schaumburg-Hoffman Estates Rotary Club. Participation fees are $25 in advance and $30 on the day of the race, and all registered runners will receive a t-shirt and running socks when they pick up their packages. Awards for top finishers both male and female will be presented by the mayor later on in the afternoon.
Other events are a breakfast, the Mr. Lederhosen BestLegs, wiener-eating and stein carrying contests. Entertainment will be provided by musical groups such as The Internationals, the Mike Schneider Band and Centerfold and by the HOTT Production Dancers. The children's play area is set to include a climbing wall, bounce house and painting activities.
Organizers of this Hoffman Estates event will likely be working with a local Print company to provide advertising. This may include Flyers, Posters and Brochures that will be distributed in the community.
The Platzkonzer Germanfest will be held at the Virginia Mary Hayter Village Green on September 12 from 9:00 AM - 10:00 PM. Admission is free of charge.
