The Northwest Fourth-Fest returned for its eighth consecutive year to bring fun and frolics to the residents of Hoffman Estates. The festival ran from July 3 to 7.
The event was held at the Hoffman Estates’ Sears Center and was a five-day party to celebrate the nation’s independence. Revelers enjoyed music, festival food, amusement park rides and fireworks in the evening.
A parade was held on the Fourth itself. It started off on the Illinois Boulevard at 9:00 am and the theme was “Happiest in Hoffman Estates.” This parade also served the purpose of celebrating the town’s 60th birthday. Local Print shops were given plenty of work providing all of the Posters and Banners for the event.
The best of the music came from live performances on July 4th. The live performers included One Hot Mess, Boy Band Review, and The Gingers, who played through the afternoon and early evening until the start of the fireworks display at 9:30 pm.
A Kids’ Zone was set up for family fun, which included face painting, wall climbing, balloon art, a petting zoo, and bounce houses. A Diaper Derby and a bike auction were included to spice things up.
Saturday was the final day of live music until 11:00 pm. It was set up to accommodate more mature tastes in music along with beer tasting thanks to samples provided by more than 10 breweries. The final day of the festival was a carnival-only day and it ended at 8:00 pm.
