Local facility sets days aside for fundraising

The Elgin Community Crisis Center is to be recipient of funds raised by two upcoming events.

The first event, which is set to take place later this month, is Chocolate, Canapés and Cocktails hosted by the Elgin Junior Woman's Club. It will feature dinner, a cash bar, and a basket raffle. In addition, the Outstanding Woman and Man of Elgin will be honored.

Those who plan to attend are encouraged to bring trial-sized toiletries, which will be donated to the Elgin Community Crisis Center. The event is for those aged 21 and over and and tickets must be purchased in advance.

In March, the 28th Spring Gala, which is the Crisis Center's annual fundraiser, will be held in St. Charles. There will be a silent auction, cocktail reception, dinner, and live auction. Sponsorships are still available.

The Elgin Community Crisis Center provides help to families in the area. Their services include a crisis hotline and temporary shelter for victims of domestic abuse. Both of these events will no doubt be widely advertising in surrounding communities such as Hoffman Estates by products provided by local printing companies.

Chocolate, Canapés and Cocktails is taking place at Moretti's Ristorante and Pizzeria in Bartlett on February 21 from 6:30 pm to 10:00 pm. Tickets are $45 each.

The Spring Gala will be held at The Q Center on March 14. For more information, including the price of tickets, call 847-742-4088 x128.
