Angling is a hobby that may be enjoyed at almost any time of the year, and kids who do not mind the cold will be taking part in a frosty fishing derby set for Hoffman Estates.
South Ridge Park is set to welcome a kids’ fishing event that will teach them about the principles of catch and release. If conditions permit, fishers will take to the ice in the morning, and once it is over, prizes will be presented in several categories.
Intended to be a friendly competition, the activity will have a three-hour runtime, and each child will need to be accompanied by an adult. Fishing gear will be available to borrow, and each attendee will need to be registered. Advanced registration is highly recommended by the organizers, but walk-ups may be accepted. Anyone who has questions is asked to call 847-885-7500. Tickets for the derby start at $15 each.
Organizing an outdoor activity can encourage a community to get up and get active. Awards for a competition that include a Logo Design or other graphics can be prepared by a printing services company.
This morning of frosty fun out on the ice for Hoffman Estates’ kids will be taking to the ice on February 11. It will run from 8:00 am until 12:00 pm at 1450 Freeman Road.
