Hoffman Estates film screening to explore topic of food waste

Reducing the amount of food wasted everyday can be a big part of building food security, and a film that will soon be screened near Hoffman Estates will provide an in depth exploration of the subject.

Filmmaker Anthony Bourdain has crafted his film titled ‘Wasted! The Story of Food Waste’, and the locally based group ‘Mindful Waste’ will be hosting a screening of the picture. Guests will be able to enjoy light appetizers and beverages while they discuss the ideas raised in the documentary, and the goal is to help people learn how they can make small changes in their own lives that have make a big impact.

The film will explore how famous chefs are able to take what others might throw away and transform it into food that will be both tasty and nutritious. The tickets for this screening are being sold for $25 each, and this price includes a seat for the documentary as well as the small bite dishes and drinks. Lake Barrington’s The Onion Pub and Brewery will be hosting this special event on November 15. The screening will begin at 6:00 pm.
