From the simple beauty of species varieties to rare cultivars and even tree types, peonies come in many Forms, and a Hoffman Estates area event will showcase their diversity.
Late May will see Schweikher House welcome flower fans for its Peony Party. It will be hosted in the tradition of Martyl and Alex Langsdorf, and the function has been planned by the Schweikher House Preservation Trust.
This late spring activity will showcase at least 35 cultivars of peonies to those on its guest list while they enjoy sips and bites supplied by Unforgettable Edibles. Midtown Strings is set to provide the live entertainment for the afternoon, and there will be art displays and guided tours of the venue on offer as well. It was explained that this year's instalment of the fundraiser will boast paintings that haven't been shown to the public before.
Spring outdoors socials and other fundraising mixers are often quite successful, taking full advantage of the season’s pleasant weather.
