Area festival celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

The Hispanic Heritage Day Fiesta is taking place next month. It is a presentation of the Village of Hoffman Estates and the Cultural Awareness Commission.

The festival celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs from September 15 to October 15.

There will be cultural entertainment from representatives of several Latin American countries, including Bolivia, Ecuador, the Dominican Republic, and Mexico. This will include dance performances and music. Among the performers will be guitarist Jose Verduzco.

The guest speaker at the event will be Pastor Raul de la Matta, who will be talking about ‘Raising the next generation’.

Of course, there will be plenty of traditional foods and drinks to purchase, and piñatas to play with. Arts and crafts vendors will also be on hand to sell a variety of handmade Latin-inspired merchandise that is likely to include jewelry, pottery, ceramics, and toys.

This festival will be a great way for residents of Hoffman Estates to celebrate this prevalent culture in the area. Organizers may have contacted local banner printing firms to help decorate the festival grounds, or to advertise.
