Annual festival celebrates the Fourth

The Northwest Fourth-Fest is returning to Hoffman Estates for five days this July.

There is a variety of events taking place during the festival and there will be something for everyone in the family to do. There is set to be a carnival with over 40 rides, entertainment, parades, a craft fair, and bingo games. Some of the musical guests, appearing on two stages, will be Sonic 7, The Fortunate Sons, and Ralph's World.

There will be two parades taking place on Independence Day – a children's bike and trike parade, and the main parade (the theme of which is ‘Traveling the USA’). Other events on July 4, will be a pie-eating contest, a Bags tournament, and pony rides. The day will finish off with a fireworks display beginning at 9:30 pm.

The 29th annual craft fair will be held indoors for two days. Artisans will be selling a variety of handmade items. Guests can also enjoy food, beer, and a cool zone.

Hoffman Estates Print companies may be helping to provide advertising materials to ensure everyone in the area knows about it.

The Northwest Fourth-Fest will be held at the Sears Centre Arena Grounds from July 1 to 5. Carnival ride ticket prices vary by day, but a ‘megapass’ for all five days is available for $30. Call 847-252-5446 for more information.
