Annual festival celebrates Independence Day

The Northwest Fourth-Fest is returning to Hoffman Estates for a week at the end of this month and will run until Independence Day. It is presented by Hanover Township, Hoffman Estates and Hoffman Estates Park District.

There is sure to be something happening

that will appeal to every member of the family. There is a carnival with 40 rides and games, a children’s activity zone and bingo. Children’s activities will include pony rides, a rock climbing wall, petting zoo and face painting.

The Cool Zone will give people a place to relax out of the sun. While indoors they can also enjoy the 30th annual Arts and Crafts Fair and purchase a variety of handmade, unique items.

There are also set to be concerts from artists such as the Suburban Cowboys, American English and 7th Heaven. Events happening on July 4 include the annual parade which will travel down Illinois Boulevard. The theme of this year is “USA Going for Gold” and it will begin at 9:00 AM. Later in the evening, around 9:30 PM there will be a fireworks display.

Many parade participants may invest in Banners from Hoffman Estate firms to either carry or hang on their floats.

The Northwest Fourth-Fest will be held at the Sears Centre Arena from June 30 to July 4. Call 847-649-2368 for more information.
