Annual expo offers solutions to those with allergies

The Gluten Free and Allergen Friendly Expo is coming to the area for two days next month.

The event is aimed at those affected by celiac disease and allergies. It will also offer options for those who just want to eat more healthily. More than 100 vendors will be on hand to provide free samples, manufacturers’, coupons and Promotional Products. There will be food concession stands selling a variety of gluten-free products. Several community organizations will be there to provide information about their services and programs, and authors will talk about and sell their Books.

In addition, guests can take classes from a variety of speakers. Some topics to be covered will include pain relief, essential oils, and adding ancient grains to a diet. Everyone will also receive a free reusable bag in which to gather all of the samples and printed information they can pick up.

Booths are still available; fees are $50 for authors and nonprofit organizations, or from $500 to $800 for merchants. Sponsorships can also be purchased for $3,000 up to $8,500.

Last year, this event attracted approximately 5,000 people from all over the area including nearby Hoffman Estates. No doubt Flyers will be distributed in the community close to the expo.

The Gluten Free and Allergen Friendly Expo will take place at the Schaumburg Convention Center from May 14 to 15. Admission is $15 for adults and $5 for children. Call 847-284-9999 to learn more.
