Annual dinner remembers MLK

The 14th annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Remembrance and Celebration is taking place this January in Hoffman Estates; this year would have been the 86th birthday of the Civil Rights leader. It is being presented by the Illinois Commission on Diversity and Human Relations.

In addition to remembering the contributions made by Dr. King, the event will also honor Manny Barbosa, Reverend Clyde Brooks, and several others. The guest of honor will be governor elect Bruce Rauner.

Guests will enjoy a dinner, music from the Dundee Crown High School Chamber Choir, and several speeches. Proceeds from the celebration go towards scholarships for high school seniors.

Sponsorships are available for $500 and $1,000; both levels include 10 tickets to the event. The higher level sponsors have an opportunity to speak to members of the choir and have their picture taken with them.

To let people know about this upcoming celebration, organizers may have placed an order for flyer printing services with Hoffman Estates Print companies, thus ensuring that people know about the event.

The Martin Luther King, Jr. Remembrance and Celebration will be held at the Chicago Northwest Marriott Hotel on January 15 from 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm. Tickets are $50 each.
