Youth mental health course planned for Gurnee

Concerned adults and professionals should keep their schedules open next month, as a mental health first aid course is coming to Gurnee.

The Youth Mental Health First Aid workshop is prepared to teach adults and professionals the essentials of helping adolescents battling mental health and addiction crises in Gurnee. The workshop is designed to provide adults who frequently work with adolescents with the tools to assist and guide youths struggling with their mental health and the best responses.

Teachers, scout leaders, parents, and health practitioners are welcome to learn helpful tips when working with adolescents. Instructors will also provide insights into the common mental health challenges youths in the Gurnee area face. Poster printing is a fantastic way to provide attendees with information from these workshops.

Warren Township Youth and Family Services will host the workshop from their building in Gurnee. Lunch is included for attendees, who register for the workshop in advance. The event will last for seven hours, and guests are encouraged to dress comfortably.

The mental health courses are scheduled for Friday, December 8th, with registration beginning at 8:00am and the doors opening at 8:30am. Participation is free, and interested parties can book their spot online now. Guests can also contact youthservices@warrentownship.net for more information about the workshop.
