Upcoming concert promises holiday fun
Residents in Gurnee and the surrounding area have a chance to attend a singalong to usher in the holiday season.
The David Adler Music and Arts Center in Libertyville, about eight miles from Gurnee, is hosting its second ‘Making Spirits Bright’ concert soon.
The event is a public singalong that features the students and faculty of the center, who will perform a number of songs from around the world. The money raised from ticket sales will go to the Student Scholarship Fund, which gives art and music scholarships to students who need financial assistance.
The center's executive director, Amy Williams, says students are excited about the concert, because it allows them to share the happiness of the holidays with members of the community. Students are planning to sing holiday favorites, while faculty members provide live accompaniment for audience members to sing along. Art students will display their works, and baked goods will be for sale. People of all ages are welcome.
The fun begins at 4:00 this Sunday, December 13 at the David Adler Music and Arts Center, located at 1700 North Milwaukee Avenue in Libertyville. Tickets may be bought online or by phone. Adult admission is $15, children's tickets are $5.
Event organizers could work with a poster printing company to create festive poster announcing the event. They could also sell them after the concert.
