Popular tribute band returns to Gurnee area
A band that pays tribute to one of the most iconic and innovative bands in rock history is on the way to the Gurnee area.
Brit Floyd is a tribute to the legendary Pink Floyd, who first got together in 1965 in London. Described as a psychedelic band, they became known for their philosophical lyrics, experimental sound, extended compositions, and elaborate live shows. They eventually came to be viewed by many critics as the all-time best progressive rock band. In their career they sold over 250 million albums and influenced a generation of musicians.
Now the Pink Floyd experience is back, courtesy of Brit Floyd, a tribute band. This will be a return engagement for the group, who promise an all-new staging that will include performing the song “Echoes,” which is from “Meddle,” Pink Floyd’s 1971 album, note-for-note. They will also be playing tracks from other albums including “The Dark Side of the Moon,” and the iconic “The Wall.” Audiences often enjoy learning about performers, and brochure printing can create informative programs for events like this.
Brit Floyd is also bringing inflatables, lasers, videos, a mammoth circular screen complete with arch, and a multimillion-dollar lightshow, replicating as closely as possible a Pink Floyd performance. Brit Floyd has performed at prestigious theaters such as the Royal Albert Hall in London, and Radio City Music Hall in Manhattan.
They will be at the Genesee Theatre in Waukegan, a short distance from Gurnee, on August 5 at 8.00 pm.
