Novel way to head back to school in Gurnee

An inventive event will help Gurnee children get back to school.

The Jewel-Osco in Gurnee is holding its “Make Back to School Rule” event. The local store, which is on Grand Avenue, will be hosting various activities inside the premises. Among these are an opportunity for people to receive vaccinations from pharmacy staff, and a chance for young people to help packing healthy lunchboxes.

A welcome table in front of the store will give shoppers a chance to win prizes, while inside, representatives from various companies, known as “Brand Ambassadors,” will showcase products ideal for meals and snacks as young people go back to school.

In addition to the kid-centric activities, there will be meal solutions for cooks, entertainment, giveaways, and more. Flyer printing can be used to create handouts for attendees at events like this, giving a timeline.

Jewel-Osco is a popular chain of supermarkets found throughout the Midwest. The company got its start delivering coffee door-to-door, and then expanded into non-perishable grocery delivery. It continued expanding after that, into supermarkets and grocery stores. In 1961, Jewel acquired Osco Drug and Turn Style Department Stores, which gave it the opportunity to create one-stop shopping experiences. Jewel today is owned by Albertsons.

The “Make Back to School Rule” day is set for August 8, from 12:00 pm until 4:00 pm. The event is free, but it is necessary to register.
