Joker and Batman come together again in Gurnee ride

Gurnee’s famous theme park Six Flags Great America is getting set to open a new ride, according to the Daily Herald.

The Joker, a roller coaster, will be opening in 2017, and the new attraction sits right next to another coaster—Batman The Ride. Both are in the Yankee Harbor part of Six Flags.

The Joker is described as a free-fly coaster, and promises “insanely twisted chaos” according to a press release. Hank Salemi, the president of the park, said he and the organization were excited about this ongoing partnership with DC, since the attractions continue to appeal to guests. Salemi noted that the Joker is one of the all-time great super-villains, and the new coaster captures his unpredictable, warped nature perfectly.

The ride will begin by lifting riders straight up to a height of 12 stories and turning them upside down. The type of seats used on the coaster will increase the thrills, since the riders will not be able to see the track in front of them.

The ride will be painted in green and purple, which should remind visitors to the park of the earliest appearance of the villain. Although the ride will not be open until Spring 2017, the park is already selling season passes good for next year.
