Jenny Lawson to visit Gurnee library

The Warren-Newport Public Library in Gurnee will be inviting author Jenny Lawson to discuss her recent memoir.

An Evening with Jenny Lawson is a program created by Illinois Libraries Present where guests can learn more about Lawson’s latest work, Broken (in the best possible way). Her book was awarded the Best Humor Book of the Year during the 2021 Goodreads Choice Awards and also became a New York Times bestseller. She will be joined by R. Eric Thomas, a television writer and author who has appeared on radio shows such as The Moth Radio Hour and Pop Culture Happy Hour.

Jenny Lawson is an author and humorist who published her first book in 2012. Her past works include Let’s Pretend This Never Happened: A Mostly True Memoir and Furiously Happy: A Funny Book About Horrible Things. She is also an experienced blogger who has written for the Houston Chronicle and The Personal News Network. Lawson has even appeared on Connect with Mark Kelley while she was fundraising for struggling families.

An Evening with Jenny Lawson will take place on Wednesday, March 30th from 7:00 pm to 8:15 pm. Those interested in attending Lawson’s event can register on the Warren-Newport Public Library’s website. Organizations that help organize author presentations such as this may use print shops to make advertisements to get more patrons interested in attending the event.
