Halloween special event to ghost past Gurnee
A “spooktacular” day especially for children is planned near Gurnee.
The “School Day Off-Pumpkin Painting and Great Candy Hunt” is being hosted by Power Kids at PowerWaukegan, a short distance from Gurnee, and is for children between the ages of three and ten. The youngsters will be able to choose their own pumpkin from the Power Pumpkin Patch, and then paint it with whatever colors they like, to create a Halloween artwork they can take home. After that, there will be a candy hunt in the facility's haunted village, which is indoors. Attendees are encouraged to wear costumes.
PowerWaukegan is a 120,000 square-foot facility that has brought traditional outside events indoors. These include skateboarding, BMX, and soccer. It also provides room for boxing matches and basketball games. Much of the spacious facility is decorated as a “urban jungle,” where people can play games of Airsoft—an urban warfare multi-player game similar to paintball.
Masks or other face coverings are required at the event, and social distancing guidelines will be observed. In addition, any child attending must be accompanied by a sibling 16 or older, a guardian, or a parent.
The date is October 23, from 11:00 am until 12:30 pm, and is limited to the first 50 people to sign up. Banner printing can be used to create suitable seasonal decorations to enhance atmospheric events such as this.
