Gurnee to start new annual experience

Gurnee is kicking off a new yearly tradition for community members of all ages in mid-October.

Halloween Fall Fest is a celebration of both the spooky holiday and the autumn season. With classic activities like carnival games and hayrides, as well as newer experiences such as “glow-in-the-dark ghost busting” and a “Mad Science Slime Lab,” there is bound to be something for everyone to enjoy.

Other activities included in the festival are a DJ, a magician, crafts, a “Trick or Treat Path,” and a costume competition. The magician will perform three sets at the Dance Hall, with start times of 1:30 pm, 2:30 pm, and 3:30 pm.

For the costume contest, guests are able to take part as an individual or with their families. Prizes will be given out to the winners going by age for both categories. Participants should gather by the venue’s Summer Kitchen for the event, which will start at 2:00 pm.

Tickets are available using Gurnee’s Park District website. These apply to children between ages one and seventeen, with the pricing between $10 and $13. Adults may attend the event free of charge, and kids must have a grown-up present with them. Cities will often use the promotion method of flyer printing when seeking to advertise their locally run events.

The afternoon of fun will take place at Viking Park between the hours of 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm on Saturday, October 14.
