Gurnee to host inaugural benefit car show

Rich’s Rods and Fatmans will be holding a fundraiser in Gurnee to support an organization that fights feline homelessness.

The Rich’s Rods 1st Annual Benefit Car and Truck Show is an event where people can help fund the organization Spay and Stay. Participants may compete in a judged show for more than 30 trophies in categories such as Rat Rods, Imports, and Customs. Guests can also participate in a 50/50 raffle and play trivia games. Fatmans will be offering breakfast and lunch specials to celebrate the event. No dogs are allowed to attend the car and truck show.

Spay and Stay is a non-profit corporation that educates people on how to trap, neuter, and return cats in their areas. The organization’s goal is to control the populations of feral and stray cats through humane methods. Volunteers can help the group by assisting during annual garage sales, designing flyers, and teaching others about the importance of trapping, neutering, and returning cats. People can also provide shelter to cats recovering from surgery.

The automobile show will take place on Sunday, July 17th from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. The event will be held at Fatmans in Gurnee. Registration for the competition will cost $20, though people may view the entered vehicles for free. Organizations in charge of public fundraisers like this can give promotional products to attendees to help improve their recognition in the community.
