Gurnee residents to try their hand at holiday crafts
As the holidays approach, Gurnee residents who want to make ceramics and meet Santa will have an opportunity to do both at Ceramics for You.
Ceramics for You is a pottery studio at which patrons can paint their own ceramic creations.
The stores also offer classes in making fused class objects, and in painting on canvas. The studios kicked off the season in Gurnee on November 20, with a party at which patrons decorated holiday platters.
Both stores (there is a second location in Antioch) are open from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm Monday through Friday, from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm Saturdays, and 12:00 noon to 5:00 pm on Sundays.
Upcoming events at the Gurnee store include a second ceramics class on December 3 and a breakfast with Santa scheduled for December 7. At the Santa, breakfast children will have a chance to take pictures with Santa, and make an individual ceramic plate. There are two breakfast seatings, but the 9:00 am meal is sold out. Interested parties can still attend the 10.45 am breakfast at the time of writing, but need to make reservations soon.
Ceramics for You could add to the festivities by work with a banner printing company to create colorful, seasonal banners to hang throughout the store, adding even more color and sparkle to the fun.
