Gurnee festival returns after four-year hiatus

The Gurnee American Legion will hold a craft beer festival in September to benefit veterans and their family members.

The 5th Annual Legions of Craft Beer Festival is a fundraising event at the Gurnee American Legion Post 771 where people can try beverages from local breweries and participate in a raffle. This year, the prize for the raffle is a collector beer stein. All participants with receive a complimentary tasting stein for the event. There will also be discounted tickets available for designated drivers, which include soda and water. Organizations can promote annual festivals like this by using printing services to make marketing materials.

Gurnee American Legion Post 771 was created in 1935 to provide essential services to veterans and the community. Events held by the organization include the Annual Orators Contest, Annual Poppy Day sales, and Patriot Day Remembrance. The group also sponsors activities from Warren High School, and offers annual college scholarships. The legion post even has a baseball team known as the Gurnee Riverdogs.

The craft beer fest will take place on Saturday, September 24 from noon to 4:00 pm. Those who purchase their tickets before August 1 can pay $35. General admission for the event costs $40, and tickets bought at the door will be $50. Designated drivers can enter the festival for $10. People can also support the organization by donating to the Friends of Gurnee American Legion group.
