Fright Fest is back at Six Flags

Halloween is on the way, and Gurnee’s Six Flags Great America is getting ready to celebrate by scaring as many people as they can, according to an article in the Daily Herald.

In honor of the season, the park has once again installed Tiny the Spider and her three babies on the side of the popular American Eagle rollercoaster.

Tiny is forty feet wide, forty feet tall, and weighs 200lb. She has been a fixture on the American Eagle at every Fright Fest since the first one in 1991. The three little ones were added in 2000. In 2012, Six Flags announced that Tiny had died, but she was resurrected in 2013.

This year is Fright Fest's 25th anniversary, and the celebration is already underway, led by Nox, a demon overlord who is in charge of the zombies, monsters, ghosts, ghouls, and other demons whose job it is to scare visitors for the six weekends before Halloween. Nox and his hench-creatures preside over six scary shows and six haunted mazes.

Dameon Nelson, Six Flags' operations director, said this year's Fright Fest is the ‘biggest haunt yet’, and no mercy will be shown to visitors arriving after 6:00 pm. He said the park had added two new, spectacular shows, as well as two more haunted houses.

Fright Fest started September 24, and runs every weekend through Halloween (October 31). Companies like Six Flags can benefit by working with brochure printers, which can create illustrated booklets about major attractions.
