Dog rescue to host adoption walk in Gurnee

Reach Rescue and the Gurnee Park District will be holding a walking activity in September at Viking Park.

The GO Gurnee Walkin’ & Waggin’ Dog Walking Event allows potential pet owners to interact with adoptable dogs while learning about the mission of the Reach Rescue organization. People are also encouraged to bring their favorite pooch to the event. All dog participants in the walk will be given a goodie bag for free from the organizer. Those who see an adoptable canine at the event that interests them must fill out an online application and be evaluated by the organization’s app review team.

Reach Rescue, Inc. is a foster-based organization that offers dogs for adoption while providing them with temporary homes through volunteers. The group helps foster families support their canines by providing food, supplies, and medical care. People can help Reach Rescue by assisting with handling dogs during adoption events, working in the organization’s resale shop, organizing fundraising events for the group, and preparing their intake facility for incoming dogs.

The dog walking event will be held on Sunday, September 25 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. No fees are needed for dogs or their owners to attend the activity, and registration is not mandatory. Organizations that put together adoption experiences such as this may use poster printing to promote the activity in local family venues.
