Ceramics in the summer in Gurnee
People who enjoy ceramics have a day coming up they shouldn't miss.
The Mythical Magic Summer Camp is being held at Ceramics for You, a small paint-your-own pottery store. The event, which is suitable for people of all ages, should appeal to children who have an interest in art.
Attendees will create four different art projects—a unicorn which made of fused glass, a unicorn bowl to be made with clay, a ceramic plate with a mermaid theme, and a ceramic fairy. The mermaid and fairy will be painted, and participants can choose the paint colors, with instructors available to guide the process every step of the way. Flyer printing is an excellent medium for advertising events like this.
There are two options for lunch. Participants can bring a lunch with them, or order a sandwich, drink, and chips for $7 from Jimmy Johns. Parents can check their children in at the studio, and pick them up at the end of the day. Clay pieces will be ready in two to three weeks, while the glass and ceramic works will be finished in one week. The studio will call when the clay pieces are done. All paints wash out of clothing completely.
The Mythical Magic Summer Camp is scheduled for July 23, from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm. The event is for people age five and above, and it is necessary to pre-register. The fee is $50, and the studio is on Grand Avenue.
