X-Flight daredevils will be taken on a gravity defying flight. Sitting in pairs, riders are suspended on either side of the track with their feet hanging in mid-air. After a 12 story climb, passengers are quickly launched into a 55 mph speed as they travel through 3,000 feet of extreme drops and five inversions.
The climax of the adrenaline-producing ride is a fly-through, during which time the racing rollercoaster heads directly toward a structure when it makes a sudden vertical flip just in time to squeeze through a keyhole-shaped opening.
Six Flags in Gurnee is the first of the theme parks 19 locations to announce plans for the X-Flight rollercoaster.
"We are thrilled to bring this revolutionary wing coaster to our guests for the 2012 season", said Hank Salemi, Six Flags Great America Park President.
More information on X-Flight including a video of the ride is available online at www.sixflags.com/2012news. Six Flags letterhead produced by Stationery printers may be used by the theme park as part of a promotional package to provide detailed information about the X-Flight as it prepares for its May debut.
