Holiday entertainment combo comes to Saint Augustine
The Gamble Rogers Folk Festival and St. Johns Cultural Council will present A Guitar Outlaw Christmas this December.
This three-hour show will bring music, storytelling, and a touch of irreverent holiday humor to The Waterworks.
The show traces its roots to the Seattle-based Tavern opera “A Simple Love Story with Guitar Outlaws,” created by Chris Carlson and Carl Sander. What began as an annual underground performance in the early 1990s has since evolved into a holiday tradition.
For the 2025 season, the torch passes to Saint Augustine’s own performers, including Don Cooper, Duffy Bishop, Rusty Springfield, Derek Coghlan, Chris Hadjipoulos, Katherine Archer, Alex Richmond, Chris Clark, and Lonesome Bert. Together, they will share songs and tales celebrating the highs and humor of the festive season, culminating in a retelling of the first Christmas “Outlaw style.”
Tickets are $30 for general admission and $40 for premium tickets, which include reserved front-of-house seating. Tickets can be purchased through the Eventbrite listing, with no refunds available.
When preparing, organizers may employ the use of poster printing to make the community aware of events such as this one.
The event will take place on Saturday, December 20 from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm at The Waterworks, 184 San Marco Ave, Saint Augustine. Doors open at 6:30 pm, and free parking is available.
