St. Augustines Annual Christmas Parade marks 68th year
St. Augustine’s cherished Christmas Parade will once again fill the city’s historic streets with festive spirit as the community celebrates six decades of holiday pageantry.
This event, now in its 68th year, will feature an array of elaborately decorated floats, local organizations, marching groups, and costumed participants reflecting the season’s themes. Residents and visitors alike are invited to witness one of Northeast Florida’s largest and most colorful holiday processions.
The parade’s route will start at Shrine of Our Lady of La Leche at Mission Nombre de Dios and travel south through the heart of downtown before concluding at the back of the Visitor Information Center. Spectators traditionally gather along San Marco Ave, Cathedral Place, and Cordova St. for the best views. Following the parade, Santa Claus will greet families and pose for photos at the Plaza de la Constitución. This will continue a long-standing custom that has come to symbolize the city’s holiday charm.
The event is free to attend, providing a family-friendly start to the region’s seasonal festivities. To manage the expected crowds, city officials have announced road closures beginning at 8:15 am, affecting San Marco Ave, South Castillo Dr, Cathedral Place, and portions of Cordova Street.
Event organizers may encourage local businesses to distribute promotional products throughout the community for events such as this one.
