This August, Miami’s monthly FilmGate Festival will have a special event where the films shown will encompass a wide and unexpected range of genres.
The FilmGate Festival is a short film series held each month that highlights Florida’s filmmakers, actors, and video and audio producers. The series celebrates the regional creativity of the area and the local stories that make up the human fabric of Florida. Short films, music videos, documentaries, and web series from Florida residents are all accepted as long as they have a 20-minute runtime or shorter.
Each month of the film series offers a different genre or perspective. Next month the festival category is called Free-for-All where the films shown will come of a wild mix of genres, perspectives, and tones.
Both before and after the festival there will also be a meet-and-greet and networking hour where community members can converse and connect with the filmmakers and production team.

The FilmGate Festival: Free-for-All is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, August 26 from 6:30 pm to 10:00 pm. It will be held at Silverspot Cinema, located at 300 SE 3rd Street, Miami.
