Renowned artists moves gallery to Ft. Myers

Nearly three months after announcing her relocation to Ft. Myers, Leoma Lovegrove has finally signed the lease for her new art gallery and studio situated downtown.

The renowned artist from Matlacha is now all set to move into a 2,800-square-foot storefront on Dean Street. The new space is over three times larger than her old gallery, which was just 800 square feet. The gallery and studio are sure to be of interest to anyone with a love of art or graphic design:

Talking about her move, Lovegrove told Fort Meyers News-Press:

“I don’t feel like I’m really abandoning Matlacha, because I’m taking the history with me.

“I’m going to have a little Matlacha section in my new gallery...I gotta take the history with me! It’s a huge part of my husband’s and my life.”

The history of which she speaks includes the personalized camper trailer she once towed to different parts of Florida for events. She mentioned that the trailer has been stationed behind the gallery for about seven years, but now her plan is to showcase it prominently inside her new gallery in Fort Myers.

Should a project commence on the presently rural northwest corner, developers would be mandated by Schneider to allocate right of way for a sidewalk at zero expense to the county. The project aims to enhance traffic flow and safety, with a completion target of this summer. During the construction, the area will be open to traffic with fewer lanes for the duration of the project.
