Fort Myers to join this years Juneteenth celebration

The 11th Annual Juneteenth Community Festival is soon set to take place in Fort Myers.

This is thanks to a collaborative effort between the Lee County Black History Society, the Dunbar Festival Committee, and the City of Fort Myers.

This year's event will feature various entertainment activities for the whole family. Attendees can look forward to stage performances, music, and arts and crafts exhibitions. The event will feature a live DJ, captivating live performances, bounce houses for children, and various vendors showcasing their products and services.

Beyond the entertainment, attendees may also learn valuable information from local businesses and organizations. Representatives will be on hand to offer free information on healthcare, wealth management, education, employment opportunities, job training, housing options, and other corporate and governmental services.

Juneteenth celebrates the liberation of enslaved African Americans in the United States. The event encourages unity, community engagement, and celebration of African American culture. The organizers of events like this can use banner printing to promote the event to Fort Myers residents and its neighborhoods.

The festival will occur at Roberto Clemente Park at 1936 Henderson Ave. in Fort Myers. It takes place this Saturday, June 17, and will start at 11:00 am and continue until 3:00 pm. Notably, admission to the event is entirely free, making it accessible to all community members.
