All kinds of plants are well suited to growing in Fort Myers gardens, and a local workshop will explore a less obvious side of the area’s home horticulture scene.
An introduction to the rewards of shade gardening will be held at Edison and Ford Winter Estates, and it will include two hours of learning with two dates to choose from. Everyone will walk away with knowledge they can put to use when it comes to choosing plants, and they may also meet other plant fans from the area.
The activity will offer a deep dive into the perennials, shrubs, and other species that have adapted to shady spots in the tropics and semitropics. Everyone will find out how they can add pops of color to a dusky corner, and the use of specimen plantings will also be reviewed. After the classroom portion of the session, it will be time to head outdoors for a guided tour that will offer gardening inspiration and the opportunity to ask questions.
With gardening, there is always something new to learn. Workshop organizers can order Copies of handouts as well as themed Promotional Products to distribute to those who register for an educational event.
Fort Myers home horticulturalists who would like to explore the shady side of the street are welcome to register for this session, which is scheduled for Tuesday, April 21 from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm, and again on Saturday, April 25 from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon. Tickets for both dates can be purchased through the venue’s website.
