The band Big Head Todd and the Monsters will visit Fort Collins late this November, performing at Washington’s in Old Town.
Colorado natives Todd Mohr, Brian Nevin, and Rob Squires formed Big Head Todd and the Monsters in 1986. The band has since released 20 albums. Five of them have charted on the Billboard album charts. One of them, Sister Sweetly, has gone platinum. Gaining a sizable following, especially around the Mountain States, they have performed over 3,500 shows and been endorsed by several iconic music artists, including Robert Plant.
The band is usually classified as a rock band, but their music also has touches of folk, blues, and jazz. One of their songs, 'Blue Sky' was written specifically at the request of the crew members of the Space Shuttle Discovery, and honors the contributions of all the workers in the U.S. space mission. It was also used for senator Hillary Clinton's campaign in 2008. Three years later, it was performed acoustically at the Johnson Space Center for the STS-133 mission.
The performance will take place on Friday, November 25 at 8:00 pm at 132 Laporte Avenue. The doors will open at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $35. Bands such as Big Head Todd and the Monsters can benefit from using graphic design and T-shirt printing services to create merchandise.
