The ‘Eagle Watch at Fossil Creek’ is an upcoming opportunity for people of all ages to join a master naturalist in looking for Bald Eagles that make their winter home in the Fort Collins area.
During this event, guests are asked to meet the volunteer naturalist at the viewing park near the parking area and along a paved trek. This is a great chance for parents and children to do something unique together, and poster printing may have been used to promote this event to families in this region.
During this watch, families will have the chance to experience the beauty of the open space and enjoy the various birds found at Fossil Creek Reservoir. At this facility, there are wetlands, rolling prairie uplands, and a reservoir lined with stunning trees. Guests are invited to bring a camera, sketch pad, spotting scopes, and binoculars and to take advantage of the peaceful tranquility and quiet. This is a great chance for parents to share time with children or just to enjoy the silence and recharge their batteries.
During this event, guests will assist with counting the various types of raptors that reside here, as well as other shorebirds, waterfowl, songbirds, and even such wildlife as prairie dogs, deer, and coyotes.
The Eagle Watch is free to attend and is planned for this Thursday, February 28 starting at 3:30 pm at the Fossil Creek Reservoir Regional Open Space located near the intersection of I-25 and CO-392, just 25 minutes south of Fort Collins, Colorado.
