Balloons lift off for 50th year in Colorado Springs

Residents and visitors in Colorado Springs over Labor Day weekend will want to take note of a community event that will celebrate a milestone year.

The 2026 Colorado Springs Labor Day Lift Off will be coming to Memorial Park for its 50th annual celebration, and residents and visitors are invited to witness the festivities. The event, which will span the entirety of the holiday weekend, will start the morning off with a flurry of color, as over 70 hot air balloons lift off and rise into the sky.

The festival will also feature a SkyFest Village, which will cater to family fun and provide meals and refreshments to visitors who want to make a day of it. Banner printing is a colorful and noticeable way to promote events like this and welcome visitors to the host site. An expanded beer garden will also be open at this year’s event, giving guests a setting to slow down and enjoy refreshments.

Children will have plenty to look forward to, with the Lift Off’s highlight being the Ninja Nation Obstacle Course leading the way. Live music and entertainment will also be held.

Memorial Park in Colorado Springs will host this year’s Lift Off, starting on Saturday, September 5, and ending on Monday, September 7. Admission is free and open to the public.
