Seniors over 60 have a chance to learn about technology so they can take full advantage of all it offers.
GroovyTek and Centennial Active Seniors are partnering to offer a training course in technology to be held at the Southglenn Library on Vine Street. The subjects include the landscape of technology, which will discuss companies like Microsoft and how they shape the use of technology. Attendees will learn about the devices they already own, and how to manage, upgrade, and update them. Tips on online security will tell people how to protect themselves as they work online, and a session on communications platforms discusses email, text, and video. Finally, attendees will learn how to use technology successfully on a daily basis.
Once they have completed the workshops, attendees will be eligible for one support session, to be held in-person with a specialist in technology, and one coaching call if they have further questions.
The fee for the course is $25, and there is limited availability. Since spots are going quickly, people who are interested should sign up at centennial.gov/step.
There are two options available for those interested in attending. The first dates are September 18 and September 25, with classes from 1:00 pm until 2:30 pm, or from 2:30 pm until 4:00 pm. The second classes are scheduled for September 19 and September 26, from 1:00 pm until 2:30 pm, or from 2:30 pm until 4:00 pm.
