Centennial celebration salutes K-9 police personnel
It's been said that every dog has its day, and a Centennial event will soon be saluting some of its hardest working canine residents.
The RexRun for PAWSitivity 5k will be putting police k-9s front and center. It will include an opportunity to see demonstrations of these dogs at work, and there will be lots of other fun to be had as well.
The day will on with a 5k walk/run at Arapahoe County Fairgrounds, and a family walk is also in the works. Dogs will be welcome, and a costume contest will give these pooches a chance to strut their stuff. The participants in the run/walk will each receive a goody bag of promotional products as well as a finisher's medal, and a pancake breakfast will make sure everyone has a good start to their day.
Along with the fundraiser, the function will include a pop up vendor area, and both silent and live auctions will be taking place. The kids can head to the area where there will be inflatables and other fun just for them. The celebration is being organized by Back the Blue K-9 Force with support from the City of Centennial.
This special salute to the city's furry, four legged law enforcement personnel is scheduled for September 6th. It will open with the pancake breakfast at 7:00 am.
