Self-defense opens in Centennial

A self-defense class has been scheduled in Centennial, offered by Premiere Martial Arts.

The class is free, and is for women only, intended to address not only physical but mental prowess to help attendees learn to remain safe. Experienced instructors will provide insights that will help women gain awareness, become assertive, learn to handle verbal confrontations, and learn strategies to enhance safety, in addition to acquiring basic physical techniques so they will be able to resist, escape, and ultimately survive an encounter with an attacker.

The instructors will also share what they have learned about verbal skills and psychological awareness, which go hand-in-hand with learning physical self-defense techniques. Students will learn effective, simple methods of taking control away from an attacker and using it for self-defense. The class is for all women age 13 and over, and is aimed at those who want to learn to defend themselves and others, learn the body mechanics that are an integral part of self-defense, or simply gain knowledge about a new subject.

Organizers encourage everyone who is interested in the course to tell their female friends and relatives about the opportunity being offered. Space in the class is limited, so anyone interested should register soon. The class is scheduled for February 13, 2021, at Premier Martial Arts in Centennial, from 2.0 pm until 3.00 pm. Flyer printing can be used to provide handouts for events like this.
