Outdoor event approaches in Centennial

Outdoor enthusiasts will be able to enjoy a day in the open air soon.

Casey Davenhill, who is the Executive Director of the Cherry Creek Stewardship Partners, is leading a walk in the Cherry Creek Valley Ecological Park. The hike is easy and will give participants a chance to observe and identify habitats and wildflowers in the park. The site is an Open Space trail, and participants are asked to wear sunscreen or sun covering of some type, appropriate shoes, and to bring water. All materials for the event will be provided and could be created with the help of Print shops, which can provide professional assistance for events like this.

The park is only a few miles from the city’s downtown and is a riparian area located along the Cherry Creek Regional Trail. Well-maintained trails lead to overlooks where visitors can see a small pond, or Cherry Creek itself. A wooden boardwalk provides an opportunity for people to cross the wetlands and look closely at the pond. Signs in the park provide information about the natural area and its culture.

For everyone to remain safe and healthy, masks are encouraged, and social distancing will be enforced. To protect wildlife and water quality, all dogs must be leashed.

The event is scheduled for June 9, from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. The ecological park is on South Jasper Court.
