The Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum opened a new facility at the Centennial Airport recently.
The museum unveiled its flight ramp on October 14. The opening inaugurated the Exploration of Flight Center, a flight-based technology and education center located on 15 acres at Centennial Airport.
The center plans to offer what it calls the ‘Spreading Wings Teacher Flight Program’, which allows one teacher from each school in the Front Range the opportunity to fly a plane. Greg Anderson, the president and CEO of the museum, said the new facility will have a lot of features dedicated to education and aviation.
The expansion is being funded by a $21m campaign that has received pledges totaling $9m thus far. The next construction is set to begin in 2016, and will be completed in the following years.
The opening drew a crowd eager to see the classic planes, which included a 1942 Boeing Stearman PT 17 biplane, and a B-25H Barbie III. The Stearman was airworthy and flew over the airport as part of the celebration. Attendees included teachers and students from Wings Aerospace Academy, veterans of the Second World War, and community and aerospace leaders.
The management of the center will want to attract visitors when they open, so they might create Brochures for Mailing that highlight the programs they offer.Get a Free Quote for Mailing Get a Free Quote for Brochures
