Grunge band rocking into Centennial area

A band synonymous with the grunge scene is on the way to the Centennial area.

Pearl Jam, which first got together in Seattle in 1990, is often named as one of that decade's most influential rock bands. Worldwide, they have sold over 85 million albums in their career, and in 2017, were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the first year they were eligible.

When Rolling Stone magazine released its issue naming the “Top Ten Live Acts of All Time,” readers ranked Pearl Jam as No. 8. The band has named many classic rock bands as having influenced them, including Kiss, Led Zeppelin, and The Who.

A review of a live Pearl Jam concert notes that the band's relationship with its fans is almost as important as the music. The reviewer says he goes to see Pearl Jam live whenever possible, because:

“ . . .Pearl Jam is absolutely, unstoppably fantastic live, and because its attitude and relationship with fans is so admirable.”

Together, the audience and the band experience:

“ . . . a shared uplift at the creation of something powerful and beautiful, the music itself.”

Pearl Jam will appear at 7:30 pm on April 9, at the Denver Pepsi Center in Denver, a short drive from Centennial. Poster printing is often used to create colorful advertisements for events of this type.
