Festival planned in Centennial

A celebration of summer is planned in Centennial soon, and everyone’s invited.

For the 14th year, Centennial Under the Stars will take place at Centennial Center Park, offering live music and all kinds of other fun activities, culminating in a laser light show. This year, the music will be provided by several popular local bands, Hazel Miller, Pandas and People, and The Long Run, an Eagles tribute band that is a popular favorite.

Face painting is available for free, and food trucks will be there with beverages and food for sale. The whole evening will be capped off with a laser light display.

City officials have some tips for people coming to the event. First, it is probably going to be difficult to find parking at the event itself, so attendees should consider parking in a lot nearby. Second, pets should be left at home. Third, alcohol is not allowed in the park, and neither are outsized umbrellas, canopies, or tents. Chairs and blankets, however, may be brought. There is no ATM at the venue, but most vendors will accept credit or debit cards. Poster printing is often used at events like this to help attendees find parking and vendors’ areas.

The celebration takes place August 10, with Pandas and People taking the stage from 6:00 pm until 6:50 pm. From 7:15 pm until 8:15 pm, Hazel Miller will provide the music, and from 8:30 pm until 10:00 pm, the laser show will be accompanied by music from The Long Run.
