Comcast commits to lease in Centennial

Developers of Inova I, a five-story, speculative office building to be constructed in Centennial, announced recently that Comcast plans to lease the whole structure. Inova I, which is rising on South Havana Street, comprises 212,000 square feet. Construction is expected to be finished by November, 2016, and it is thought the cable giant will move in some time during the first three months of 2017.

Comcast has been moving its operations around Colorado, including Centennial, for some time. In May, the company said it planned to hire 600 people to work in a customer-service center it was opening in Fort Collins. In 2015, it took over a building comprising 22,000 square feet in Denver's Ballpark neighborhood, and centered Comcast Wholesale operations there.

It has also moved to Centennial before. Last year, Comcast located its western division and business operations units in the Panorama Corporate Center, moving employees from the Denver Tech Center's Inverness Business Park to a space comprising 300,000 square feet. Centennial is also home to Comcast's television studios and other facilities, at Colorado Boulevard and Dry Creek.

Inova I, which Comcast just agree to lease, is the first phase of a mixed-used development called Inova Dry Creek. When all five buildings are finished, the complex will offer 650,000 square feet for use as offices and residential units.
