Entertaining at home is a great pleasure for many people, but a source of anxiety for others. Now, an upcoming event will help people learn how to create a memorable evening.
Smedley Events will be bringing its Entertaining Made Simple event to Sumac Hill Farm to share tips with attendees on how to entertain. Organizers understand that it is easy to get overwhelmed by the details involved in planning a dinner party, but Entertaining Made Simple helps people learn how to deal with everything from the decorations to the menu.
Participants will take part in selecting a menu and then help prepare a three-course meal, using ingredients coming into season in spring. The menu starts with a spring appetizer of the cook's choice, followed by a carrot soup; then salmon baked in herb butter, with spring vegetables and pickled onions; and dessert will be strawberry shortcake and biscuits made with heavy cream.
As the food cooks, the participants will decide on a design for the table, set it, and then enjoy the meal. The evening will conclude with participants taking home recipes, and a special treat from the chef. Flyer printing can be used to create attractive Menus for evenings like this.
At the present time, Entertaining Made Simple is scheduled for June 13, from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm. Sumac Hill Farm is on South Gilpin Street in Centennial. Interested parties should check with the venue closer to the event in case of a change in the schedule.
