Spring sees Centennial households tackle their spring yard and lawn clean up tasks, and the city will be transforming the clippings into an amendment that can help to create gorgeous gardens.
Centennial has scheduled a Chipping and Mulch event, and, and there is no charge to take advantage of the opportunity. It will be offered thanks to a collaboration between South Suburban Park and Recreation District, Jacobs, Terracare Associates and the city itself, and two drop off stations will be set up.
Those who decide to take advantage of the offer can bring pruning debris and tree limbs to their choice of collection point, and a woodchipper will be set up on site. As this activity tends to be popular, there may be a wait time for the service. While this is going on, anyone who would like to can pick up some free mulch at either the Willow Spring Service Center, or the Public Works Facility starting at noon. Everyone is asked to bring a shovel and tarp to load up their vehicle.
Many communities host clean ups, shred days and mulch makers during the spring months. Stationery printers can prepare mailers to send to local households so they will know how, when and where to take advantage of these activities.
Centennial will be offering its Chipping and Mulch day on June 7th. The collection points will be on offer at 7272 S. Eagle Street. and 7100 S. Holly Street.
